Privacy policy
This website works without cookies, tracking, analytics or content from third parties.
This is a translation for convenience. The German version of this privacy policy is authoritative.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR for data processing on this website is:
Christopher Sebastian Streng (Sole proprietorship, Streng Labs)Wundtstraße 12
80939 München
Germany
For all questions about privacy, write to privacy@strenglabs.com.
2. Scope
This policy applies to the website strenglabs.com. The products presented here have their own privacy policies, which are linked on each product page.
3. Hosting and server logs
This website is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data that is necessary to deliver it: IP address, date and time of the request, requested address, browser and operating system (user agent) and, if sent, the referring page.
Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf as a processor under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR), to deliver the website and to protect it against attacks and misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; transfers to the USA are based on the adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR) and, in addition, on the EU standard contractual clauses.
Cloudflare keeps this data only as long as it is needed to deliver the website, to defend against attacks and to analyse errors. We do not store access logs ourselves and have not enabled log retention or web analytics for this website.
4. No cookies, no tracking
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics, tracking pixels, advertising or social media plugins. Fonts, images and scripts are loaded exclusively from this website; no data is sent to other providers when you view a page.
If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key “sl-theme” so that it applies to the next page. This value never leaves your device. It is only stored after you switch the theme yourself, because you explicitly request this function (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
5. Contact form and e-mail
When you write to us by e-mail, we process your e-mail address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for requests related to a contract or project, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for all other requests.
When you send the project enquiry form on the contact page, your entries (name, e-mail address, project description and, if you fill them in, company, project type, budget range, timeline and link) are transmitted encrypted to a function of this website on Cloudflare Pages (see section 3). It forwards them without delay as an e-mail via Zoho Mail (see below) to our mailbox. The website itself does not store the entries. The same legal bases apply as for e-mails.
To protect the mailbox from automated mass submissions, the function checks a field that is invisible to people and the time between opening and sending the form, and it counts the enquiries per IP address for ten minutes in its working memory. This count is not saved and disappears after that time at the latest. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a form that cannot be misused (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If sending fails, the form offers to prepare the e-mail in your own e-mail program or to copy the text; then nothing is transmitted until you send the e-mail yourself.
We delete e-mails once your request has been dealt with and no further correspondence is to be expected, unless statutory retention periods apply. Under § 147 of the German Fiscal Code (AO), business letters are kept for six years and accounting records for eight years.
Our e-mail is hosted by Zoho Mail, which processes it on our behalf as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR). For customers in Germany the contracting party is Zoho Corporation GmbH. Our account is held in Zoho's EU data region, so e-mails are stored in data centres in the European Union. In rare cases Zoho may access data from India for technical support, and individual functions may involve sub-processors outside the EU; Zoho bases such transfers on the EU standard contractual clauses.
6. Links to other websites
This website links to the websites of our products and to other services. Data is only transferred to them when you follow such a link; from then on, their privacy policies apply.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). On grounds relating to your particular situation, you can object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). To exercise these rights, write to the address given in section 1.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
8. Further information
There is no automated decision-making or profiling. You are not obliged to provide personal data; without the data described in section 3, however, the website cannot be delivered.
